A Better Person

Have you ever decided that you were going to try change your lifestyle with the main focus being weight loss and your friend decided they wanted to join in that journey with you? It's fun to have a friend join you in a journey; to have and give support and motivation. What if that friend starts having better results and faster results than you; especially if you feel that you have been more dedicated?

I'm going to be honest here and say normally I become I poor sport about the whole thing. I tell myself that the person is lying about their numbers or sucking it in for pictures. Basically any excuse that I can think of to debunk the fact they are having results that are better than mine, since in my head I have been staying true to eating correctly and putting more into my workouts. All in all I become a jealous bitch. Hopefully I am not the only person who can or does get like this. Otherwise I just made myself look like a horrible person and friend and I'm not!

I have decided I am not going to be that type of person that I normally would become. I have a friend that has joined me on a program that will help us change our lifestyle. Now, I have been having results, and I am very happy and proud of myself for what little I have done. That doesn't mean that I don't wish I could have better results like my friend. I have come, finally, to the realization that we are all different and our bodies are all different. I am going to be the friend that congratulates others on getting closer to their goals and finally reaching their goals. I will use their success to boost my motivation, make me work harder, and never give up in reaching my goals and being successful myself.

Guess who's back...

I'M BACK... I think.

I really want to do this blog thing, so I'm going to give this a ride one more time. I will say that I felt like I had to write a certain way, talk about certain things, blah blah blah. Don't ask me why. I do not know why I felt this way. Maybe because I was trying to be like some of the popular blogs that I follow. The thing that I have learned though, after going back to their first posts: They are quite boring compared to how they are now. They just wrote about what was going on that day or couple of days.

That is exactly what I plan on doing. I am going to write about my day(s). Fingers crossed I don't get too boring!

Amazing Job and Challenge Questions

I have been thinking this week about how much I love my job.

My own boss
Work from home
Make my own hours
Work anywhere in the world
Help people live healthier lives

Some of the amazing things I know I will be able to add to that list in the near future

Great financial freedom
Live my dreams

What I am getting out of my job right now is just amazing. I just can't wait to get complete financial freedom. And my dreams will just keep getting bigger and bigger. The wonderful thing about it though is that I will be able to continue to live out those dreams.

Here is a dream board I made. I can't wait until I can put bigger dreams on it!

Here are my "shrinking beauty" questions for the week to help keep me focused on my weight loss

Day 1: What are your current stats? Explain how many calories  you will be eating every day and what exercise you will be doing. This is a little hard for me, but here goes. Weight=171 lbs ~ thats all i can measure for now. Days that I do workout ~ anywhere between 1300 and 1500 calories. On rest days ~ around 1200 calories. My workouts will consist of mainly cardio with a little bit of strength training. And my #1 must for every day... Juice Plus!
Day 2: How many pounds do you hope to lose by the end of the challenge? How many pounds do you EXPECT you will lose? I would hope to lose 15-20lbs, but I only expect maybe.. 10lbs
Day 3: What is your ultimate goal weight that you have set for yourself? Why have you chosen that number? My ultimate goal weight we be 120 because I'm only 5'1" and the ideal weight for someone that height is 105-130
Day 4: Will you be losing weight in a healthy way or in an unhealthy way? Explain why.
In a healthy way of course, cause I would like to keep it off!! No more fat girl for me!
Day 5: Besides losing weight, what else do you hope to accomplish by completing The ShrinkingBeauty 30 Day Challenge? I would hope to have bettered my eating habits. Maybe go completely clean.
Day 6: Why do you want to lose weight? What is the main reason? Ain't nobody got time for FAT! :-) I just want to be healthier, feel comfortable about the way I look.
Day 7: Are you insecure about your body? If yes, which area(s) in particular? If no, explain why you want to change it then. I am. Mostly insecure about my tummy area {I got asked the other day, by my mom, if I was pregnant again OUCH!} :-(

Military Diet Results and Egg Hunts

I started the 3 day military diet last Monday. It was not the easiest, but that is because I can't stand plain tuna. I'm not going to bore anyone with what exactly I ate. Usually things get easier on the second day. Well, not for this girl! Cottage cheese?! I don't think so. I will spare you all my reasons why I cannot eat the stuff, but it is the one thing I have to find a substitute for when following this diet.

I wasn't able to do the final day. I needed something more filling than crackers and an egg; I was pulling up more flooring. It's a pretty good workout for your arms, I must say. It's going to take about 3 - 4 more days to get all the floor up. Any who, just doing the 2 out of the 3 days I lost 4.5 lbs, all without working out. Honestly, I have not worked out in a long time. I am horrible inspiration!!

I need to start changing my habits. Soon too! I will be doing the Pretty Muddy 5k Women's Run with my friend and old boss Megan on June 1st. For the next 30 days, hopefully even longer, I will be following some basic weight loss rules along with answering a question a day that will hopefully keep me on track as to why I am on this journey.

Those are the rules. And I will be adding a little weekly challenge to this.
This week, nothing but water to drink {not a problem for me} and I must do 30 burpees and 100 jumping jacks a day along with my running which I will start doing again.

Enough with the fitness talk now.

Friday, Jeremy had an interview. He has been out a job since January. Long story short, he was told he had a job with one company with better pay, put in his notice at the current job, and the better paying job fell through right at the last minute. Apparently they have done this to other people too! Any who... I am hoping that we hear something Monday. I love him, but its annoying having him home all day long! I'm sure being around me 24/7 is annoying as well. People need their space no matter how much you love being around them. There is a limit!

Saturday, all 3 kids went to Addison for their annual Easter egg hunt with my mom and aunt while I went to visit my Granny. When I went to pick them up and asked about how the egg hunt went, this is what I was shown.

Yes, that is a garbage bag filled with plastic Easter eggs! I guess my kids were some egg hunting maniacs!

And I will leave you guys with this! I love it!

Spring Break and Diet Challenge

Thank God this week is finally over! Brooklyn and Korben have been in San Antonio all week for spring break. I think my motivation to hit the gym went with them. I have not gotten a workout in all week. I regret not pushing myself to go, but it's in the past now. Going forward I need to keep in mind if I want to see change, I need to make a change and get my lazy ass to the gym!

This week wasn't a total Fat Girl week. I did sort of get a pretty good arm work out in. My aunt is completely remodeling her kitchen I was hired on to help pull up there hard wood floors. That shit is NOT easy!

BEFORE imagine just a little bit more wood flooring

AFTER
had to move all the wood on the right to the bed of a truck too

Along with jumping on the motivation train, I know.. cheesy, I will be doing the "military diet" I found here via Pinterest. I have already done it once. It's so super easy. Only 3 days and they tell you exactly what to eat and even drink which is mainly water, duh! I lost 8lbs when I stuck to it. I could never complete another 3 days after the 4 day rest. I blame the tuna, which I am not a big fan of. I am wanting to try it again so I can prove to myself that I CAN follow through with something for 3 days. Help turn up my motivation. I will be working out (running), which something I didn't do the first time. After the 4 rest days I plan on doing something else just to compare the two. I will talk more about that on next weeks post.

And I leave you with the cutest boys  in my life!

First Post and A Little About Me

It's my first blog post! Yay!

I'm going to keep my first post pretty generic and just tell any readers that happen to stumble upon my little ole blog about who I am, what I am about, and why I decided I wanted to start this blog.

I am a mom of 3 beautiful children; Brooklyn (7), Korben (2), and Lincoln (1).
I have an amazing, makes me want to pull my hair out but I wouldn't want anyone else in the world, husband.
Unless you're a good looking hockey player!

I was a manager of a retail store for four years before I became a stay at home mom in December of 2011, when I had my third child. Daycare expenses are a B!%@#

In being a stay at home mom, I wanted to find something to do other than be Suzy Homemaker. Who am I kidding, I'm the complete opposite! Just trying to be real here! When I get the time I educate people on the importance of whole food nutrition and tell them about the next best thing to whole fruits and vegetables, and how to help bridge the gap between what we eat and what we need to eat.

Along with becoming healthier, I am on a journey to lose weight. I want to share that journey to help inspire people on their own journey.

This is me taking on being a mom times three, a wife, and a future skinny girl!  That's 5...
